On 15–16 April 2026, the GreenTurn consortium met in Vienna for its Project Meeting and General Assembly. This milestone event marks a key transition for the project, as it moves from the design and preparation stage into the deployment of pilot activities across Europe.
The meeting was hosted by the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Haus der Wiener Wirtschaft. The organisation also contributes to GreenTurn as a member of the Stakeholders Advisory Board, supporting connections between the consortium and the wider logistics ecosystem.
Over two days of intensive discussions, partners focused on several key components shaping the upcoming pilot phase:
Pilot deployment roadmap
The consortium presented and discussed the final configurations of GreenTurn pilots, including the interventions that will soon be tested in real urban environments.
Digital pilot scenarios
Partners refined the scope of modelling and simulation activities that will support and complement the physical pilot implementations.
Supporting retailers in greener e-commerce logistics
Discussions explored how retailers can adopt more sustainable approaches to delivery, returns, and packaging processes.
Pilot validation and assessment
A common methodology was defined to ensure consistent evaluation and comparison of pilot results across participating cities.
LogPOINT study visit
Participants visited logistics facilities in Vienna, gaining practical insights into operational solutions relevant for pilot implementation.
Policy tools and consumer engagement
Partners discussed the development of the GreenTurn policy toolkit and planned accompanying awareness-raising activities.
Consumer awareness activities
Engagement actions were designed to encourage citizens to choose more sustainable delivery options during the pilot phase.
With pilot configurations now finalised, GreenTurn is entering its next major stage: real-world testing of innovative solutions for more sustainable e-commerce deliveries and returns across Europe.
